Healthy Eating: A plateful of colours

Healthy foods

This post is specially for parents and caregivers. As an extension of colours in my environment, children can be encouraged to identify the colours of various food items and select foods of different colours to eat on a daily basis.

Most parents know the battle of getting children to eat vegetables; but, if they are consistently and patiently persuaded to select foods of different colours and some fun is added to the process, parents just might win the battle.

Even at the kindergarten level, children can begin to learn the importance of a balanced diet in an interesting and age appropriate way.
What are your ideas?

Once you have read this, you can share your idea/s for introducing the concept of a balanced diet to kindergarteners. Remember, it must be fun and age appropriate.
